First National workshopAt Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi
The idea of participation in the Indian civil society building is now slowly but steadily picking up a momentum in the Indian Muslim community’s organized social activities. Muslim community organizations and NGOs have been marginalized by other civil society building actors for a number of years. In fact to some extent, Muslim leadership and Muslim NGO withdrew themselves from the mainstream and became detached and remote. However recent developments signal a shift in the situation and Indian Muslim NGOs seem to be making efforts in building bridges of suitable contacts, social and professional networks and workable co-operations.
