WE, THE INDIAN MUSLIM NGOS
-
Resolve to seize the momentum and leverage the unprecedented awareness, awakening and desire to take control of Muslim community’s destiny, created by Sachar Commission Report.
-
Are committed to redress issues of social justice, socio-economic devastation, communal harmony, human rights, equal opportunities; state terrorism and police brutalities. Our first step will be to leave behind narrow mindedness, religious bigotry and built-in prejudices and intolerance.
-
Affirm our intentions to make India the global economic leader and champion of democracy, human rights, religious-cultural pluralism. We would like to see that India achieve the highest economic growth and highest income per capita, while ensuring that no Indian is left behind in the search for a better quality life.
-
Undertake to make our organizational vision as an Indian civil society organization dedicated to enhancing sustainable development through people aspirations and dreams; and turning dreams into realities through good leadership for the people of India in general and marginalized people in particular irrespective of cast, gender or religion.
-
Make our mission to improve upon the living condition of poor and marginalized people. We cater to the people centered vision; provide them with opportunities to develop their fullest potential and encourage them to believe that they have potential to significantly improve their own lives. In this process our role will of a facilitator, a catalyst, a change agent and a partner-in-struggle; not a leader.
-
Promise to make the community self sustaining and self reliant. As a result of this approach a new partnership between people will emerge which will be healthy, democratic, participatory and self-governing.
-
Place greater emphasis on people initiatives and holistic approach to human development. Programs and services offered by us will be pro-active, rehabilitative, preventive and upgrading.
-
Make an effective use of the capacity building process by being creative and imaginative, to dream and to be able to live for own collective aspirations, ambitions and dreams. Will also focus on analytical awareness, understanding of various development paradigms and approaches, attitudinal changes, social activism and management skills.
-
Undertake a significant public education and policy advocacy to create greater awareness related to the deteriorating conditions of marginalized people, minorities and Muslims. We will bring through advocacy many issues to the attention of media, politicians and social activist. Our aim is to draw attention to gaps in the policy and discrepancies in government programmers and practices.
-
Believe in practicing innovation, consensus and team work. An innovation will help us in understanding needs of people and technological progress; and in making necessary changes in our attitude, approaches, and operations of our affairs and delivery of our services. We will make consensus of the stakeholders as our basic principle of the participatory decision making, and community building.
-
Promise to make transparency and accountability; creativity and innovation; moral- ethical and good practices; equal opportunities for both genders as our core values. We will conduct our affairs with highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
-
Change pity, alms giving, handouts and band-aid to long term solutions; as charity and welfare create dependency and destroy motivation.
-
Focus will be on transformation of people and community mobilization through building confidence, self esteem and social support networks to a better, fulfilling and progressive life for every body.
-
Advance the community empowerment process through human dignity, social justice, equal growth opportunities, civil society building, participatory democracy and inclusiveness of the poorest of the poor.

-
Determined to empower ourselves through acquisition of knowledge, capacity building, collaborations, partnerships, networking and professional development.
-
Call upon policy makers, government decision makers and law and order officials to take corrective and proactive measures to catalyze the immense Muslim potentials that is wasted due to communal biases, religious prejudices, stereo-typing and systematic exclusions and social boycotts practiced by the states and district officers.
